Linux Kernel error using USB to boot up when AHCI enabled

Thread needs solution

I've been happily using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 for years. Recently Dell has been shipping their laptops with AHCI enabled in BIOS. On 100% of these machines I get a Linux Kernel error when using my good old Acronis USB. If I switch to Sata in the BIOS, it works perfectly. Is there ever going to be a fix for this? It's an extra step that I don't want to go through every time. If I try to boot to Windows and forget to change the machine back to AHCI, I get a blue screen. I have the latest version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.
Thanks!

Hello Steve,

Thank you for using Acronis software.

If the latest Acronis bootable media does not boot using AHCI mode, then please create a windows based WinPE bootable media. There you will be able to provide your windows drivers. You will find in this article from our knowledge base the steps to create this bootable media.

Please remember, that you can use only windows 32-bit drivers for your WinPE media.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
