Network location is unavailable at the moment

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to backup to a FTP server (D-Link DNS-343) and I keep getting the message "Network location is unavailable at the moment" after a while. I'm running Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Advanced Server. At first I was getting the message after backing up about 89GB, then I made the file splitting size smaller (200MB) as suggested in this forum. Now the message appears at about 110GB. The ftp server is accessible since I'm able to access it via FTP client and web browser. The FTP server is local at the moment since I'm trying to get the initial backup on to the FTP server and then bring the FTP offsite and do incrementals. I would like to add that the FTP server is also accessible thru the personal vaults without any problems.

Help please!

Martin

Hello Martin Boudreau,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

There is no need to split the backup, as the ftp protocoll splits the backup file for itself. I suggest first to update the firmware of your NAS device, if available.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello A A

Could you please clarify the product and build version you are using and provide more details on the issue:

  • the full error message
  • when exactly does it come
  • is the network share accessible in Windows Explorer using the same credentials
  • how is the path to the share specified in the backup plan\credentials - if possible could you please attach screenshots
  • what type of vault is used

Thank you,
