Professional : What is the best version for a scheduled local backup on a PowerEdge T610 with windows 2003 server ?

Thread needs solution

Hello from France,

Professionnaly, I have to install a scheduled backup solution on a PowerEdge T610 with windows 2003 server and I'm looking what ACRONIS software is the best for that.

Actually, This server has to be backuped localy and later on a Network Area Storage but it manages itself then all components of the application must be installed on this server.

The disk configuration is 2x250Go in RAID mirroring for the system and some data parts divided in 4 partitions and 2x2To in RAID Mirroring for BACKUP then I have to backup the 250Go including system and database of the main application of this server on the 2To internal backup disk.

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server is the only one solution for my configuration ?

Can I install all the components of the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server (Serveur de gestion, Noeud de stockage, License Server, Console de gestion, ...) on this server ?

I dowloaded the trial version but this server is actually working in production environment then I would like to be sure before installing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 on it.

Thanks for your Help

Mathias

Hello Matthias!

Welcome to Acronis Forum, we're glad you joined us!

Thank you for the detailed description. I would advise you to test Acronis Backup and Recovery Server for Windows instead of Advance version. They are similar in functionality and the only difference is that Server for Windows doesn't have remote control features, which are not required in your scenario.

You can check the demo version as well as the Quick Start and User's Guides. The installation doesn't require a reboot, so feel free to test in on your machine!

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

hello Yana,

Thanks for your fast answer.

In case of modification in the future, is it possible to update from the Acronis Backup and Recovery Server for Windows to the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server without trouble with importing the parameters of the actual backup configuration ?

Hello Mathias!

Thank you for that question!

Unfortunately it is not possible since these products are considered to be different. Thus in order to change them you will need to request the refund for Standalone Server and later purchase Advanced version.

You will have to reinstall the software, and all the scheduled tasks will be lost during this process.

Thank you for understanding!
