RAID FAILURES WITH ACRONIS SOFWARE
HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES WHEN I TRY TO TAKE COMPLETE BACKUP. SERVER GETS HANG AND SUDDENLY IT RESTARTS. AFTER ITS REBOOTED, RAID CONFIGURATION SHOWS AS DEGRADED AND ONE OF THE DRIVE SHOWS UP AS FAILED. SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WITH 2 OTHER COMPUTERS.
CONFIGURATION:
WINDOWS 2003 SERVER
ADAPTEC RAID CONTROLLER CONFIGURED AS RAID 1
ATTACHED HDD'S ARE MAXTOR 180 GB - 2(PORT 0 AND PORT 1)
EVERY TIME I TRY TO TAKE IMAGE BACKUP, PORT 0 DRIVE FAILES AND RAID LEVEL WILL SHOW UP AS
DEGRADED.
I TRIED DISABLING "DISTRIBUTED LINK TRACKING CLIENT" AND REINSTALLING ACRONIS SOFTWARE AND NO LUCK.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?

I am having the same issue with my trial version.
I thought this would have been resolved with the release of 10, but I guess not.
I tried version 9 a year ago and had the same problem.
I was able to find a solution after many days of searching. I don't think I want to go through that again.

What do you know...I found it!!
This is the exact same issue & resolution with the previous version.
All I had to do was this:
- Start->Run-> regedit and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\snapman\Parameters registry key;
- Add Parameters key if it does not exist yet;
- Add new DWORD Value;
- Set the new item's name to MaxSplitBlock and its value equal to 100 (decimal);
- reboot the server
once it is online, start the backup and it should work!
