Restore drive C at Xen Server 5.5 VM

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am testing to restore a schedule full backup of a whole VM at Xen Server 5.5. It is Server 2003 OS at drive C only. It is done by a downloaded trial of ARB10U1 Advanced Server.

However, whether I selected the restore option of disk or volumn and with or without NT Signature, I always get the following error message in booting up:

A disk read error occurred.
Press Ctrl + Alt + De; to restart.

I have followed up the suggestion from Citrix forum to run FIXBOOT, FIXMBR and BOOTCFG in Safe Mode. However the result is the same.

When I attached this disk at another VM, it is showed as 'Active' partition.

Please give me a hand! Thanks!

Hello Rulf,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Actually, the issue you are experiencing is rather strange. I would recommend you to restore the image again using another type of Acronis Bootable Media. If you have used Bootable Media based on Acroloader, you should try ISOLINUX.
Since you are using the trial version of the program, you are unable to download the appropriate file after logging in to your account. This option is available for the full licenses (you can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article).
If you still need the file for a further troubleshooting, please send me a Private Message.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
