SBS Edition - Exchange aware?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

We have Acronis Backup&Recovery Advanced Server SBS Edition running a nightly backup.

Two questions released to Exchange:

1. The Exchange folder is growing by the day as the Exchange logs are not being deleted after a backup. VSS is enabled so what more can we do to make Acronis "Exchange aware" and ensure the logs are deleted? (Other than setting up a manual service stop and start).

2. If we need to recover a mailbox or some emails, can we use the standard method to recover the individual emails? (E.g. First restore the entire Exchange database to an "alternate location" then "Create Recovery Storage Group" in Exchange pointing to the restored data. Pull out the emails then delete the Recovery Group).

Thanks,
John

Hello John,

Thank you for posting. I will certainly assist you with these questions.

To answer your first question, it will not be possible to do this with Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 SBS Edition. You can try the following workaround with the current product, or alternatively try Acronis Recovery for Exchange, which supports this operation.

You can definitely recover a mailbox or some e-mails using the method you described in your second question.

In case you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
