Unable to recover a RAID 5 system

Thread needs solution

Hi ,
i tried to recover a backup of a server (mounting windwos server 2003 r1) having a raid 5 configuration.
The backup has been made on boot (operating system was not running).
I tried to recover it on the same machine (no hardware change) just for test, but on reboot the system doesn't start.
Is ther some tip to backup raid configuration?
I have done several backups and revory for workstation and all works correctly.
thanks.

PS : the server is quite old (2004) and maybe the raid driver are not available to ABR10.
Shoud i use the universl restore even to recover backup on the same machine?

Hello Luca Luca

Thank you for posting your question in our forum.

Please accept my apologies for the late reply.

If your machine does not boot after a successful recovery, please check this article from our knowledge base to rebuild your boot configuration.

You also should check if your bootable media was able to detect the raid system correctly. Only if you have done the backup detecting the raid system correct your backup will be valid. Backing up the physical drives only will result in an unbootable system after recovery.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
