Universal Restore Error
I am using Acronis Universal Restore, to restore a image from one hardware to another. The image will restore correctly to its base image. When I restore using Universal Restore on the different hardware, I add my drivers, then click image and it begins to restore but has an error:
"0x1d0004 Unable to Open Registry Key Microsoft\Windows NT\Current version"
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Chris

Yes I did extract the drivers. I keep getting the error though. I even went into the host machine in which I am creating the image on, went into the registry and gave everyone full control of that specific registy key so it should not be a permissions issue. I running out of ideas. Thanks!

Hello Christopher and Babac!
Thank you for your comments and for finding time to report about the issue. I understand your concern, and will be glad to help you!
Unfortunately due to the lack of sufficient diagnostic information it's hard to identify the exact cause of the problem, so this situation requires investigation. Please gather:
- What exact OS are you restoring?
- Where there any errors during the recovery process?
- System Report from the source machine
- Windows Registry from the source and target machines
Please do the following to take Windows registry from the target system (that is, the system to which the image was restored):* Create an Acronis True Image Bootable CD. The CD is used because in most cases the problem systems cannot boot into Windows.
* Boot the computer under consideration from the created Acronis True Image Bootable CD
* Create files/folders backup of \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file
* Send us the created *.tib filePlease do the following to take Windows registry from the source system (there are two ways to do this):
* You can perform the same exact steps described above for capturing registry from target system and send us the *.tib file
* Or since the source system registry is already backed up as a part of a full hard disk drive or partition backup, you can simply restore \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file from the image and send us the restored files/folders.So, we need two Windows registry exports: from source system and from target system.
- Acronis Report from the target drives
- Exact error message you receive
After that please submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!
