Hi RPG
After searching Google for the device name (ID you have provided) it would seem it’s related to a USB controller driver, if correct, this driver should not stop your system from booting up after the restore?

Once your OS has been booted you can install the required Intel INF drivers (normally contain the USB chipset drivers) however it’s always best to check with your main board support page to see if they require any special drivers.

Another thing to keep in mind is when including drivers for Universal restore always insure they match the OS you are recovering; For example if you are recovering to a Windows 2003 64bit OS you need to make sure the drivers you are providing are for Windows 2003 64bit (do not try and use the 32bit drivers..etc)

All the best!

Did you ever sort this. I have a similar problem restoring Windows 2003 to new hardware, and Universal Restore just keeps asking for:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C26&SUBSYS_04DE1028&REV_04
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C2D&SUBSYS_04DE1028&REV_04

Windows blue screens without them :(

Hello RPG,

thank you for using Acronis Software.

You have drivers for motherboard or chipset drivers for the new computer. If you have a specific hard drive controller such as SAS, RAID or SCSI, you also need to download drivers for them. These drivers are critical for booting the operating system. You can download the drivers on the Vendor's web-site. Please note, if you downloaded the drivers in *.exe, *.cab, *.zip format, you should extract them first. The driver files should have the *.inf, *.sys or *.oem extensions.

Thank you.

Just a quick update to let you know I'm up and running.

To cut a long story short, my blue screen was a 7B error caused by Windows not being able to recognise any drives. The missing drivers that Universal Restore would not install was actually a red herring. In the end, I stumbled across a BIOS option to boot in ATA mode rather than AHCI and the server booted up first time. From there I was able to install the remaining drivers that Universal Restore had failed to install, plus the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers, which allowed me switch the BIOS back to AHCI mode.

The failure of Universal Restore had been a distraction, and had the BIOS been set to ATA mode from day 1, the server including domain controller and Exchange, would have been restored and running in 2 hours!

The Acronis product did what it was supposed to, but maybe if the support engineers had been a little more informed about AHCI/ATA issues restoring old versions of Windows to new hardware, we might have saved a couple of days of stress.

Hello Tim,

thanks for using Acronis Software.

Thanks for your feedback. I have forwarded your comment to our Management Team and we will get this problem adressed.
