Acronis Appliance - Configure multiple NICs

Thread needs solution

I'm running the Acronis Appliance.

Can I configure more than one NIC?

I changed the virtual appliance settings but the Acronis appliance only seems to recognize the initial "eth0" NIC I supplied when I uploaded the virtual appliance?

Hi,

Likely you are trying to add E1000 adapter to appliance configuration which is not supported. You should add 'VMXNET3' network adapter.

Please check the https://kb.acronis.com/content/32820 article and perform actions 2 and 3 from the solution section. NOTE: do NOT upgrade the virtual hardware of appliance if you are running ESXi 5.5 since otherwise you won't be able to edit settings using desktop vSphere client. In short the solution is as follows:

1) Power off appliance
2) Edit settings and change the Guest OS type to "Other 2.6.x Linux (32-bit)" (without this step you won't be able to add VMXNET3 network adapter)
3) Add VMXNET3 network adapter
4) Power On the appliance
5) Configure network from the appliance GUI

Thank you.
