Backup and Recovery of Windows Server 2012 Storage Pool Volumes

Thread needs solution

Is there any plan to support this feature? I have a tier-enabled storage pool volume so that I can split a volume between 2 different performance LUNs (new & frequently used files are on the 'ssd' SAS raid 10 volume while older data is automatically moved to the 'hdd' SATA raid 6 volume). At the moment I can restore files by booting the VM from the backup and then restoring files from within Windows. It would be nice to be able to do this directly in Acronis. I am using the appliance version.

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

Yes, we do plan to extend our support for Storage Spaces feature introduced in Windows 2012 in the next version of the product which is coming next year (can't say more detailed time-line at the moment). It will come along with enhancements for file recovery from NTFS deduplicated volumes (there are known issues with direct file recovery at certain deduplication levels).

Thank you.
