Cannot open vmProtect6 TIB backup files with Acronis Backup & Recovery 2011

I cannot open the backups created by vmProtect6 using Acronis Backup & Recovery 2011.
It there a workaround for this problem or are the TIB files created by vmProtect6 different than those created by Backup & Recovery 2011?

I contacted Acronis Support, they stated that this behavior was by design and thus not an error.

Thank you for your post. Just want to confirm that this is the correct statement - Acronis vmProtect backups are of different format and are not compatible with Acronis Backup & Recovery backups. See also: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions.
