vmProtect 7 VSS Issues

Thread needs solution

I recently upgraded from vmProtect 6 to 7 (Windows Agent running on Server 2008 R2), and now a VM backs up with the following error:

The following virtual machines may have inconsistent snapshots due to VSS issues: 'CRM-VM (10.0.6.162)'. See http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cm… for solution.
Additional info:

I've followed the KB article with no luck, uninstalled/reinstalled VMware tools with and without the VSS service, restarted countless times, and tried manually registering the VCBSnapshotProvider.dll, as mentioned in another VMware KB article.

I've also uninstalled/reinstalled vmProtect 7 with no luck. Any help appreciated.

Quick update:

Tried re-registering VSS providers/writers - no effect.

Rolled back to 6.0 for now - backups succeed but will now have to test them to make sure the warning shown in 7.0 isn't just being hidden in this version.
