[RESOLVED] Recovery - backups missing Owner and Locates On

Thread solved

Using Acronis Backup 12.5 on CentOS.

I'm trying to rebuild a VM using the Acronis boot media to recover from backup. The VM boots from ISO correctly, and I'm able to connect to the data path where my backups are stored.

Unfortunately, most of the backups are not available. There dozens of servers backed up, and many have multiple backups. Only 6 archives will open to let me choose a backup time to use.

The common features of the failed ones: "Owner" and "Locates On" are both blank. The "Comments" field says "auto-generated archive".

Does anyone know what could cause this or where I might find some clues? I'm not aware of any changes to the backup server.

Resolved.

The Boot_Media.iso was outdated. The few backups that were working were old ones or from clients with older agents installed.

Hello David,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums and sharing your solution with forum users!

Indeed, it is critical to check if all Acronis Backup components (including Acronis Rescue Media that could be uploaded e.g. on PXE) are of the same build number. Otherwise, it could lead to different peculiarities: the older build would not detect a backup created with a newer build, etc.
