Hyper-V with CSV backup issue
Hi,
our setup involves a few Dell 730 servers connected to an EqualLogic storage.
The OS is Windows Server 2019 with Hyper-V Failover Cluster role installed and the storage is configures as Cluster Shared Volume.
I created a backup plan in order to backup the Hyper-V hosts only (i use separate plans to backup the VMs) so on Backup Options / File filters I added an exception for "C:\ClusterStorage". The Acronis agent is installed and configured on every host and each host has its own backup plan.
I face two issues:
i) when Acronis tries to run the backup plan for the Owner Node of the CSV containing the VMs i get the following warning on windows logs:
"An I/O request for device 'C:\ClusterStorage\Cluster Disk 2 - Cluster-VOL0\FS1\Virtual Hard Disks\FS1.vhdx' took 551670 milliseconds to complete. Operation code = WRITE16, Data transfer length = 4096, Status = SRB_STATUS_SUCCESS."
and sometimes the following error:
"An internal Cluster service operation exceeded the defined threshold of '30' seconds. The Cluster service has been terminated to recover. Service Control Manager will restart the Cluster service and the node will rejoin the cluster."
ii) when Acronis tries to backup the Owner Node of the CSV containing 4TB disk
the operation fails with the following error:
On both above cases, when i change the Owner Node of the CSVs the backup plan succeeds with no errors.
I would really appreciate your help on the above issues.
Thanks,
N.
