Scheduled backups won't start and ESXi appliance returns error

Thread needs solution

Hi!

This might be the correct place to ask this, but we've encounted a rather frustrating error when we use the Cyber Backup ESXi appliance to run backups from our cluster. Scheduled backups won't start and the appliance itself returns this error:

GXT: The item provider has skipped the report of an item with key '('54AC9581-1B51-E743-1E51-C1B12564E8B4','mms::vm::datastore')'.

If possible, is there any useful troubleshooting tips I should be looking at before taking everything apart?

Hello Liv Axelsson,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

This error indicates that the Acronis Cyber Backup ESXi appliance does not see the specified VM. Please check whether Acronis Cyber Backup ESXi appliance is connected directly to vCentre, not to a host. When it is connected to a host, it will not see a VM that is moved to another host inside the cluster.

However, if your Acronis Cyber Backup ESXi appliance is connected to Center but you still see this error, we recommend opening a case with Acronis Support Team for this issue investigation.
