Acronis Survival Kit

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I need help ..

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office build 40338 ...

Started creating Acronis Survival Kit on external usb hard drive .. and for whatever reason it crashed at middle of doing that.

That partition should be 2GB front of the regular one right? It shows only 129MB ..

Now it shows folders but it seems that MFT is corrupt etc .. so that rest of the data on that disk is unreadable.

What is the most successful way in that situation to recover that data?

Thanks for any help and tips!

Hello Ergo.

During Acronis Survival Kit creation a hidden 4GB(Windows)/ 3.5GB(Mac) partition is created in the beginning of the drive and bootable media components are placed on that partition.

Supported file systems on external HDD for Acronis Survival Kit creation:

Windows version:

    • NTFS
    • FAT32
    • exFAT
    • If the drive has another file system, Acronis True Image suggests formatting the drive.

MacOS version:

    • APFS
    • HFS+
    • If the drive has another file system, Acronis True Image suggests formatting the drive.

Could you please provide us with more details as:

- Did you executed any backup?

- If yes, did you tried to recover with the WinPE B.media? https://kb.acronis.com/content/69427 ( if not, please try that ).

If the issue persists, please raise a ticket with our support providing all the information about the steps taken https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153 .

Thanks.

Ergo,

If you can please attach a screenshot of your survival kit disk as shown in Disk Management.
