Acronis TI 2020 to the new Acronis Upgrade Question

Thread solved

Hi, I didn't upgrade from Acronis 2020 since the subscription thing came along, I don't do subscriptions of any kind.

However, just an inquiry as to the new Acronis thingy that took over from True Image.

I have zero interest in any 'cloud' feature,

zero interest in any Ransomware, Antivirus or Anti-Malware protection

zero interest in the installation of anything

All I want is access like in the old days to a Bootable media .iso, and a Universal restore .msi from my account, so I can do all my backup and restore stuff offline as it were.

Is this still available under the new regime?

Acronis now only offer subscription applications since the release of ACPHO.

See KB 68375: Licensing change FAQ: Acronis products switch to subscription-only licenses - where this change was announced!

If you have a license for any version of True Image, then you can download both the ISO of the Linux based rescue media and the MSI for Universal Restore from the downloads panel of your Acronis Account, assuming you have registered your product to your account.  The same still applies to the ACPHO subscription version.

If you did go to ACPHO and subscription, then this can now be installed using a Custom Install option that allows you to only install the base features of Backup, Recovery & Cloning without all the extra features.

 Thank you for your reply.

Yes I realize that Acronis only offer Subscription now. I'll try to be as clear as I can.

If I did go for the new Subscription version of Acronis, the ACPHO, I don't want to install anything regardless of how stripped down it can or may be, zero. All I want is what is contained in the 'Other Installer Downloads' in the picture bellow, that is all I want.

Is the "ISO of the Linux based rescue media" you mentioned the exact same thing as what is labelled 'Bootable Media' in the picture below? And you are saying that if I subscribed to the ACPHO I would then have access to up to date versions of the 'Bootable Media' and 'Universal Restore' available to me just like I did before?, not the old versions but new up to date versions which will allow me to boot from the 'Bootable Media' and do all my backing up and restoring etc from there?

Just checking to be sure, I wouldn't want to purchase the subscription to find it's not so.

The answer is yes as shown below:

Thank you very much.

The Universal Restore module has not been updated since 8 August 2020, so you would get the same build with ACPHO and ATI 2021; ATI 2020 is 26 August 2019.

Thank you, I seem to have missed ATI 2021, which is odd because I had been upgrading every year since 2015. But seems it doesn't matter on that point.

As soon as I get another Email with a deal on ACPHO I will take it and get up to date on the other parts at least.

Thanks again for commenting and the info.

Hello jih64,

thank you for your interest in Acronis software! Currently, I see no promo offers on our website, but I think we can still offer a discount. Please let me know, what type of licenses and for how many devices you need and I'll send you the offer 🙂
