New Beginner User - Full System (First Run Backup) - File System Error

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone,

I am a new Acronis user that recently picked up the 5 machine package.

Not the most tech savvy... but I can get around some basics (command line prompts, copntrol panel stuff, etc)

Quick Background:

- 4 machines did a full backup with no issues

- 1 machine (which happens to be my main machine) is giving a file sytem error.

- I ran chkdsk /f /r and it looked like some areas needed fixing.. but it was done.

- I have done this 3 times and the program still gives the same error

Basic System Info:

Alienware Aurora

Intel i9 3.5ghz

128 gigs ram

64 Bit Windows 10

I have run an Acronis System Report... but not sure how to read it or share it.

Really hopin to solve this problem given the importance of the machine.   Also... this machine is really screaming at me to update to Windows 11... which I am going to finally do.... but.... I want to get a full backup done before I green light that process.

Thank you in advance for your time and support.   I have seen some great threads already and there are clearly some really awesome people in here helping out... super appreciated.

Darryl, welcome to these public User Forums.

For the file system corruption issue, do the following:

Open the Acronis system report zip file then extract the disks.txt (disk report) from the zip archive and use the File > Upload option (if working) to attach it to this forum topic.  This should help identify any file system error if present and lead to how to resolve it.

KB 58820: Acronis True Image: Collecting System Report

KB 1638: Acronis Disk Report

Example: this disk report shows a file system error for H: 2ndVolume 1.8TB drive / partition as indicated by 'e' shown in column C at the right side.

Thank you very much.   Unfortunately, it says that the file cannot be uploaded. However, I have also tried to put the file on dropbox and link it here... but the forum won't let me do that either unfortunately.

Darryl, if you can post the dropbox link minus the initial https:// bit you should be able to post it.

Also run chkdsk /f on all the volumes, you may need to assign a drive  letter.  I have found that usually does the trick.

But just a suggestion.

Awesome.... here you go:

Just a FYI,  if having to repair a disk with /r, it's time to replace that disk.

Have you ran something like Seatools and ran a long generic test?
