Acronis True Image mobile backups corrupt

Thread needs solution

After I upgraded to Acronis True Image 2021 build 39216 six months ago I discovered my mobile backups were being corrupted. Acronis support said there was no solution so suggested that I go back to build 39184. I have heard nothing since then.

Does anyone know whether this problem will ever be fixed? Was 39216 that last build ever for Acronis True Image 2021?

BTW, I was also disappointed because the GUI for build 39184 was real sluggish  compared to build 39216.

Edward, build 39216 looks to be the final build for ATI 2021 as Acronis have now released the new Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (ACPHO) version which would have been ATI 2022, so are very unlikely to release any further updates to 2021.

If you have a subscription license for ATI 2021 then you can upgrade for free to ACPHO which has a current build of 39620.  If you have a perpetual license then you would need to switch to subscription or stick with what you have!

I am not aware of corruption problems with mobile backups but haven't been using that feature for some time due to other issues and limitations!  Mobile backup cannot access any root data on mobiles as does not have the required privileges so I just use the native Google backup options on my Android phone, and use the IOS backup on Apple devices.

I am surprised that nobody else has complained about the mobile backup problem. You said you were not aware of the issue.

Here is a portion of the last response I got from Acronis support way back on April 28 where they acknowledge the problem and suggest I go back to the previous build...

Like I said with ATI 2021 build 39184 I can browse the backup inside the ATI program now. I got an error in the ATI program if I tried that with ATI 2021 build 39216.

As we discussed in the initial email, with Acronis True Image 2021, build number 39216 this is a known issue, that is why I suggested or shared link to install previous build and you were able to browse the backups without any issue.

However, if I double-click on the backup file on the backup drive I get an error. Is this normal? I got the same error when I tried to double-click on the file with ATI 2021 build 39216.

Edward, to my knowledge, it has never been possible to just double-click and open .tibx backup files created by the Mobile app in Windows Explorer - these have always needed to be opened via the Acronis Drive option.  Mobile .tibx files have always been considered corrupt by the Explorer shell integration feature that allows ATI backup .tib & .tibx files to be explored.
