Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced Server and Workstation

Thread needs solution

This must be a joke OR what -
'Advanced Version' - WITHOUT Osselector
i can't understand your philosophie - you remove the best and most wanted Part of your software from the 'Advanced Version'

Is there anybody who understand this?

Marianne,

Acronis hadn't intended to include OSS with either of the new Disk Directors and it was only reinserted at the last moment. It cause many problems for people as can be seen in this forum.

In many corporate environments where multiple operating systems are required on one machine many organisations are turning to virtual machines to implement this, as are an increasing number of home users. Again, as ADD is aimed at the business world, many large organisations will have IT staff or access to people who can write scripts/programs etc.

You do of course now get access to Disk Editor.

The "WIPE" function, present in DD10, was promised for the Advanced version of the DD11. I installed the trial version of DD11 Advanced Workstation, and did not find it. Why is no longer possible to delete a file in the "Explore" in DD11? This was useful in DD10 to delete hidden files/virus in HD and pendrives.

Sorry for bad English.

Ok guys, very disappointing as could be expected in view of Acronis off-late 'track record'...

Just back to DD10 I guess !

Rafael,

There is a wipe ability, just not where you'd expect it to be and it doesn't fill the disk space with random data but with zeros.

Select the complete disk, right click and select Edit.

Switch the disk editor to hex view.

Highlight the very first byte of sector 0 (byte 0).

Pres shift+ctrl + End, this will select all the disk sectors.

Click on Fill, enter 0 (zero)

Click OK.

Thanks, Colin B. I had not seen this before.

But I'll take this topic to give an idea for future builds of DD11.

Add a shortcut (right button?) for this "WIPE" function, as in DD10.
Add again the option to delete a file in the "Browse files" window.
I personally do not use the OSSelector, but I see that many people need it. Perhaps it could be added in future builds.

Thanks again.
