Attempting to recover data from damaged hard drive
I have a Seagate 750GB drive and its doing the clicking thing and the drive is becoming unresponsive. I purchased Acronis DD11 in the hope of trying to recover the data on the drive any way I can.
I'm using Windows XP SP3
I have another hard drive that has no data and its a good, clean drive.
Using Acronis DD11 I am able to browse files on the damaged hard drive, I can see the original file structure and the file names are intact. However, I can't access the drive using regular Windows Explorer.
Is there a way for me to copy the entire contents of the bad drive on to my good drive?
If you have any other recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

No way. Seriously? Does that mean Version 11 feature incomplete then? Why would they leave that function out of Version 11 when it was in Version 10?

I'm using Ver. 10's linux based bootable CD for many years for the Disk Explore function, because sometime my customers' hard disk is infected by viruses or unbootable so I rely on this feature to move their data to other clean backup disk/partition and re-format or restore the original image from Acronis Secure Zone. It is very neat function without needing to boot to the Windows OS.
I've Tried DD11 team with either TI2010 or Backup Recovery 10 Workstation, and very upset with all those crippled function and clumsy GUI. At the end, I've reverted back to DD10 and TI Echo 9.7 Workstation for their rock solid functionality.
The function I needed most for DD is the Disk Explore and Disk Wipe function; And the True Image function I needed most is it can predict the space needed prior to creating the archive so I can decide how big is the Acronis Secure Zone need to be reserve for the hard disk while assembly for new PC for customers.

Can try approach Acronis customer support for that, customer should have downgrade rights even Microsoft offer downgrade rights for Windows XP, because newer WinVista and Win7 OS is more suitable for "Kindergarten" so they've extended the downgrade rights to year 2020. Can you imagine still a lot of my customer from government agencies or private business sectors still insist on loading WinXP for their new PC.
It is a mistakes that they rush to release DD11/B&R10 too soon, migrating to a new GUI while some feature/function not working therefore being discarded, this scenario usually happen in software industry is also because of the development team changed/restructuring. Marketing Department should also do a good job to list out a complete version comparison charts so customer can study them before buying. But now everything is too late, customer bought the software and felt cheated. The feeling is like, married a wife and soon later found out that the wife is born without genitals.
