Can DD10 hide a partition from DiskPart?

Thread needs solution

I have been given a Toshiba laptop to reset to factory from the hidden recovery partition but DiskPart isn't showing the partition. This laptop has both DD10 and TI11 on it. TIH11 shows the System partition if you want to back it up but not if you wanted to restore it, which is a little strange to me. Neither DD10 or TIH11 show the recovery partition. I was wondering if the owner or somebody had used DD10 to hide the recovery partition would it be hidden from DiskPart, or they may have deleted the partition altogether.

I would think that DD10 just acts as a GUI for DiskPart so the user doesn't have to use the command prompt and enter the line of code to achieve the same results, but I don't know DD10 and could be wrong. If I'm not wrong then any partition that DD10 or even TIH11 changes will still be accessible by DiskPart since the programs use DiskPart to modify the partitions.

So is there anybody that knows these programs well enough that can tell me if I'm right or wrong about DD10 and TIH11 using DiskPart to modify the partitions and where the recovery partition may have gone?

Just a thought. My son has the same laptop with the same Vista installed but it has 2 HDDs, .2Ghz faster and I think larger memory for the video card, but essentially it's the same laptop. Could I copy his recovery partition, install from that and change the Vista product key to the one that came with the laptop that I'm trying to reset? I believe that the recovery partition has been deleted and this seems a much easier way of doing it.

Microsoft said that the key is still valid but if I copy the partition it might have trouble with the drivers or problems later. I wouldn't think so because they use the same drivers. The only problem that I can see is if Vista recognises that it's a different laptop.
