Can read files but cannot move them from unreadable Hard drive

Thread needs solution

My Win7 computer cannot read a hard drive, but it is seen in Acronis Disk Director 12.  I can also browse the files in the unreadable hard drive from Acronis, but cannot move the files to a different drive so I can format the unreadable drive.  The drive is in Basic GPT.  Will converting it to a dynamic disk or MBR disk help, or will it just format the date I'm trying to save.

Thanks!

No, you don't want to convert to dynamic disk or MBR - chances are, it will soft format the drive during the process - defintitely will when you convert to MBR.  Does it show up as RAW in Windows?  Sometimes, Windows just doesn't assing a drive letter automatically so you just go into computer management and give it a drive letter and that's all you need to do. I'm guessing that might be the case there since you can see the folder structure in disk director which means they exist on the drive.
