Cloning of GPT disk with DD12

Thread needs solution

Is it possible to clone gpt disk with DD12 or I have read it wrong on the product site?

I am running into the problem that ADD12 will not clone MBT disks. It will only clone MBR disks. I bought ADD12 because it is advertise as being able to clone MBT disks. Note in the link posted by Uphoff shows no examples of how to clone MBT disks....only MBR disks. I have been trying to figure this out for days. I tried to get help and was informed that my free support ended today!!!!!!!!!! Hellllpppp

Amar apparently we have both "read it wrong on the product site". DS

Hallo DEWI SPAW

In der deutschen Bedienungsanleitung ist die Funktion "Klonen" nur für "Basis" "MBR" Festplatten verfügbar. Man könnte eventuell die Partitionen einer Basis GPT Daten Festplatte kopieren.

------------------------------
In the German manual, the function "cloning" is only for "Basic" "MBR" hard drives available. You can try copy volumes of a basic GPT data disk.

I'm having the same issue too:

but according to:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/47030

It says the following:
This article applies to:
Acronis Disk Director 12
Introduction
Using Acronis Disk Director 12 you can clone basic MBR disks and basic GPT disks without boot volumes or volumes containing an operating system.
You cannot clone a single partition, only cloning of an entire disk is possible.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So it does include the option for GPT disks?
Now granted the drive I'm trying to clone has an OS... but just for kicks, while I was in Disk Director, I created an NTFS partition on the blank GPT destination drive... Once I "committed those changes", there STILL was no option for Cloning (I even rebooted and still no clone option)
Hi Family Tram,
thank you for your posting.
Could you please create an illustrating screenshot?
Thank you.
OOOPS - I meant GPT disks...I'm frustrated.
I'm also frustrated. I'm a retired consultant SW eingineer, but not very familiar with Windows disc formats. I saw that Acronis Disc Director 12.5 was the top rated disk cloning tool & just speant about 8 or 9 hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't clone my MBT LSISAS RAID SSD to a hard drive. I could even copy all the individual partitions, but always got warned they wouldn't be bootable.
Acronis Disc Director 12.5 is useless for my purposes as I need to periodicly create full backups of my SSD system disc with Win10 PRO & my company data files.
IMHO the description should read: "This operation is available for basic MBR disks but NOT MBT disks. To clone MBT disks use Acronis True Image."
