Cloning/Copying a bootable Windows 7 Pro partition
I presently have 3 partitions on my solid state 111.8 GB system drive. The first which is a 35.97 GB primary partition contains a bootable version of Windows XP Pro along with application software, the second is a 38.85 GB Primary Partition that is empty and the 3rd is a 36.97 GB primary partition that contains a bootable version of Windows 7 Pro along with related application software.
What I would like to do is set up 3 options via the Acronis OS Selector where I can boot either the XP or one of the two Windows 7 partitions. I am hoping that I can simply clone or copy the exisitng Windows 7 Pro partition to the 38.85 GB empty partition and then make some minor configuration changes. I have tried using the copy option but the resulting partition does not boot.
I am using the home version of Acronis Dick Director 11. Any suggestions on how to go about doing this?

Alexander, I am a bit confused, as your response to me that I received via email was as follows:
"Hello, Ron
To copy your Windows to a different partition, please use "Moving a volume" feature. Do not use copy option, because the resulting partition won't be bootable. For more information, see User Guide (page 38 - 39).
Make sure that your disk is basic (not dynamic) before such operations.
Best regards."
However, the above message is different. I can only assume that you edited your response after I was notified by email. Regardless, I did try moving my Windows 7 Volume to an unallocated space on my SSD and it relocated itself but left the partition space that it had previosly occupied unallocated. What I want to do is retain the original Windows 7 volume and add a bootable clone copy to another partition. I am really hoping to not have to go through the effort of doing another Windows 7 install and all of the application software that must go with it.
