DD 10 Fails to resize partition.
I need to repartion the drive to preserve my system files and allowcate other partitions for data storage. I bought DD 10 to eliminate the need to partition the drive with diskpart and have to install the system again. However the product did not live up to my expectations.
Just downloaded a copy of DD 10 2 days ago. (Oct. 20, 09). It installed OK on an Windows XP SP2 machine without any issues. It created a boot media (CD) without any issues.
Then I, started the partition resizing process. I rebooted from CD to resize/partition my c drive.
I noticed that the interface fails as you click on the menu options and reboots the computer. (yes I can repeat the issue)
I also noticed that If I try to resize or re-partion my drive it also fails with an error stating that there is a bad block. I have checked my drive and have found no errors. The drive is clean!
If I try the same operation from the windows environment, the operation fails with the same message.
The drive is a 466 GB drive with only 13 GB used. The rest is empty.
Are there any limitations with this product that I am not aware?

Thanks Kolo for the information. I will try again to get some help from acronis. So far dealing with the company and product has been very disappointing. I had no response from their support staff. It does not seem that there is a place to download build 2160 from their site. Is there? I am willing to give it another try in all fairness to the company.

Try the Live Chat support option. If that doesn't work for you, find a post by an Acronis Moderator and send them a PM requesting build 2,160.

Hello all,
Thank you for using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0
Sandro,
I found the case you have mentioned. I will let the appropriate manager to know about the delay to prevent this situation from happening in future. The respective engineer will contact you soon.
Meanwhile, I recommend you to try Acronis Bootable Rescue Media based on ISOLINUX, it can work better for your purposes. We have implemented the possibility to download the appropriate ISO file after logging in to your account (the serial number should be registered). Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.
You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD here
Also we should be sure that your hard drive doesn't contain bad blocks or file system errors.
Please download Acronis Report utility available here and run it, create a report, attach to your next post.
This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
Thank you.
