DD11 - Does rescue media recognize SATA yet?

Hi Group,

I have DD10 and True Image 9.0 , 11 and now 2010 upgrades. I have never been satisfied with the DD10 application within the rescue media.

Specifically the DD10 application within the rescue media would not recognize SATA hard disks. I worked with product support, received custom ISO's which failed to boot. I was given instructions press F keys when I boot etc... Still did not work. Bush league to say the least. I eventually gave up and learned how to make a BartPE disk with acronis plugins, which has met my needs.

Before I take the plunge and upgrade to DD11 I need to know if the buildable rescue media will recognize SATA hard disks.

Has anyone made a rescue media and if so what problems have you encountered with the DD11 application? Does it see SATA hard drives?

DD 10 can and does see SATA drives. The problem is not the drives, but the controllers. If DD doesn't include the correct drivers for the SATA controller, it can't find the drives. The mode of the controller (Standard, RAID, AHCI) can also make a difference.

I'm sure DD 11 uses a much more current Linux kernel than DD 10. However, since you appear to have had a lot of problems getting it to work, it may be better to post the chipset being used (or motherboard brand/model) and the controller's mode so that others can report if DD 11 works on it.

My computer is about 1.5 years old (Dell Vostro 420). I'm using AHCI mode (according to the bios) and the device manager reports an Intel ICH10R SATA IHCI controller.

Is this the info you suggested?
