Disk Director 11 problem - operation restarting?!
hi, i'm trying to merge a 700GB and a 800GB partition into one, both NTFS, with ADD 11 Advanced
my system was asked to be rebooted, now it's in something like a DOS mode, displaying that ADD 11 Advanced is running.
For a long time it was showing Operation 2 of 2, total progress was on 50%, Current operation progress on 0% and nothing was moving.
After some hours there has been some progress, and the current operation went up to 34% or so, the total was around 65%.
i left the machine there overnight to run, but in the morning i'm surprised to see that the current progress was back to 20% and the total back to 60%
what the hell is happening? i'm already close to 24hrs of running, and i'm suspicious that the whole operation keeps restarting (but since i can not sit here looking at the screen for all these hours, i'm not sure)
is this behaviour normal?!
i can see constant flashing of the HDD led and can hear it working, so something is happening, that's for sure, but why does it keep going back to the front when it was already on a higher percentage earlier?!
i suppose i should not reset the machine (there's nothing else i could do actually, machine is completely locked up, i can not even turn off/on the scroll lock led (usually that is used to check if the computer is responsive or not))
can anybody shed some light on this?

waryou303,
Whilst the operation you performed will take a long time, the fat it kept restarting might indicate you need to run chkdsk /r (or f) to make sure all your sectors are OK. For the future it may also be wise to run a defrag program before starting a disk consolidation program.
