Does Disk Director support 4k Sectors ?

Thread needs solution

Just got a new external 2GB USB drive.
(inside is a WD20EARS-00MVWB1)
When i try to acces the drive with Disk Director I get:
"Kann 'Laufwerk 7' nicht verarbeiten, weil dessen Sektorgröße (4096 Bytes) nicht unterstützt wird."
So is it true that Disk Director does not support these new drives ?
Does anybody know when can we expect support for this ?
I have version 11.2121

Thank you and kind regards..

DD doesn't currently support 4K sector drives. I didn't get an error message when I tried, DD just wouldn't work with it properly.

I have no idea when support will be added, but I would assume Acronis is working on it since there will be more and more of these drives in use.

Hello, i am getting a little bit confused now. I bought a 3 TB HDD that also is in 4 (4K sectors) and wanted to use
Acronis Disk Director 11 Home to create the partition layout on it because it is stated in the KB article :

16200: Advanced Format Drives Support in Acronis Products

that this version DOES support Advanced Format Drives. When i tried to create partitions, all the formatting options were inactive.
The result was that partitions were created, but could not be formatted with any file system. Even worse : After formatting the
partitions using Windows XP and NTFS, Disk Director 11 Home did not recognize the file systems nor the partition label.

Now, what is right ? The statement in the KB article or my (And your) parctical experience.
And if Disk Director 11 Home does NOT support 4K sectors, is there a plan to fix that ?
Certainly the KB article should be corrected...

Are you having the problems when using DD in XP? I would try the DD CD and see if it works better. I haven't looked into it much, but I think XP has problems when comes to Advanced Format Drives.
