trying to resize volume to fix windows 10 install error, but volume won't resize. I get the following error, any ideas?

Up to this moment W10 does not support ADD.

Why don't you use W10 Control Panel > System & Security > Administrative Tools > Create & format hard disk partitions to resize your volume?

Because I am using 8.1 on one machine and 7.1 on the other. Both have the same issue.

OK - well W7 has the same facility and most likely W8. You don't need ADD to do this.
