No CD-ROM boot with Acronis OS selector

Thread needs solution

I'm using win 7/64 and OSS ver 11 buikd 3024. When I boot to the menu and put a bootable disk in the CD drive I get no option to boot from the CD, just floppy, which is not installed on my system.

This is a fairly common problem with OSS. Sometimes it can't access the CD/DVD drive correctly from the BIOS.

If you don't need the CD/DVD controller in a specific mode, you might try changing it in the BIOS and see if it will show up in OSS. Note that this will only be possible if the CD/DVD drive isn't connected to the primary controller (as it might be if it's a SATA drive). For example, OSS may be able to see the drive in IDE Compatible mode and not in AHCI mode.

Hopefully, Acronis will do some more work on updating OSS now that it's been added back with DD.
