Not able to read external hard drive
Thread needs solution
I have an seagate external hard drive (internal drive put in console and attached to PC via USB). I have been using it for 3 years. Suddenly it stopped appearing in My computer and in disk management (windows). Although I can hear the beep when i plug-in disk into computer.
When I run Acronis Disk director 11 Home, it shows the external drive as Disk 2 (removable - 512 bytes - offline). When I click on Acronis Recovery expert, it does not throw up any deleted volume.
Not sure what to do... plssssssss help.......
Cheers////

Does the drive work when connected to a different computer?
Does the drive work if connected internally?
Can you post a screenshot of what Disk Management shows and what DD shows?
