os selector, ntdlr is missing
Hey everyone I'm trying to make my computer multibootable with a bunch of different stuff and Im having some trouble, now I get "ntdlr is missing" when I try to boot the os selector's partition. Couple questions summarized at the bottom... so you don't necessarily have to read the whole post.
I started out by formatting the hard drive... made 4 primary NTFS partitions, set the fourth one as active partition and installed OS selector on it. On the first partition C: I installed Windows 7. (although win7 didn't like the partition I made for it so I had to delete the partition and make a new one with the win7 disc before installation) Windows 7 automatically set itself as active partition so I changed the boot loading partition back to active but when I turn on my computer I just get "Ntdlr is missing. ctrl alt delete to restart." If I set my Windows 7 partition back to the active partition I can boot windows 7 by itself without a problem.
I have done some research but I'm still not sure what I need to do. I know that windows 7 does not use Ntdlr to boot, but windows xp, and acronis os loader, do. I need to get Ntdlr and ntsomthing.com to the root directory, being drive C: my windows 7 partition? Or my os selector partition that im not sure what it is labeled? I know Ntdlr is most commonly restored with the xp disc repair feature... but my laptop is SATA so i get blue screen when i try to use XP disc and hence can't use it to solve my problem.
Also, windows 7 C: partition, the status is "healthy (system, boot)" , don't know if that has anything to do with anything. Everything else status is just healthy.
Anyway let me sumarize a couple quick questions so you don't have to read the whole thing:
1) Do I need to put the two ntdlr files into the C: drive that win7 is on, because it is the first partition?
2) How can I do this without use of an xp disc...
3) Is there anything pertaining to the problem I am missing?

Ok I have kind of resolved the ntsldr whatever problem... now when i turn on my computer it boots OSS and It lists both win7 and winxp... but both options boot win7.
C: windows 7 (active, system, boot)
E:winxp
D: just an extra partition... nothing on it
G:Acronis OSS
All are ntfs primary partitions
If anyone wants to help me but needs more information just ask me for it... I am new to the multi booting stuff :S
Probably going to make a new thread to better help me find an answer to my new problem
Thanks
