OS Selector - write boot sector new

Thread needs solution

In the properties area of the OS it is possible to choose the option to write the boot sector new, each time when the operating system is started. This seems to be the default.
Is it really necessary to write the boot sector each time new. In my feeling the boot sector should be touched only if it is absolutely necessary.

Thank you for your comments.

In most cases, it is not necessary. OSS makes a copy of the boot sector when it detects the OS. It is then written back to the partition when OSS boots it. This is usually not necessary because nothing has changed. You can disable this option if you want, but leaving it selected doesn't hurt anything either.
