Please URGENT: Acronis Disk director doesn't work for partitions!
Hallo,
I have just purchased disk director suite 10 for making a partition from c:
Well, I used the automatic mode, I made a 300 GB partition, (from 450 GB) I committed it as told to do for confirming.
It asked the reboot. I rebooted.
A light blue window during the reboot appears(Disk director 10) and completed all the operations. Rebooted again, another time disk director window appeared telling that everything was completed.
Well, starting windows xp, everything well. I went on the list of hard drives (computer resources) and there was NO TRACE of any new partition. And the free space of drive C: was 450 Gb as before the creation of the new partition.
What is happening?
What have I made wrongly?
No error messages, never!
But simply the program DOES NOT create any partition.
Please answer as soon as possible.
I have windows XP SP3 and I have Acroni TI 10 just bought a few days ago.
Thanks

Bitte helfen Sie mir.

My operating system is Windows XP with SP3. When you zoom the free space of parition C (3.33 GB of 29,29GB fei) by reducing the partition E (free 93,34 125,6 GB GB) with Acronis Disk Director 10 receive the following error message: "... can the free space of the selected partition not enlarge the current partition size is the maximum size." Please help me. Sincerely, Gerhard Mühle

Gerhard:
Are the two partitions C: and E: adjacent to each other? If so, try the operation manually. First resize E: to be smaller, but be sure to leave free space before the partition (to the left) as shown here (this figure shows two partitions named C and D):
You should then end up with free space between the two partitions as shown here:
Finally, resize C: to be larger.
If the two partitions are not adjacent to each other then you may have to resize E:, then move the other partitions to the right until the free space is to the right of the C: partition. Then resize C:

Hello OM,
I have the same problem: I did exactly what's written by Mark Wharten K0LO and afterwards I get the following picture:
(*) In the first line the C:-partition is 15,56 GB. (This is the size before).
(*) In the bottom picture the C:-partition is 83,79 GB. (This is the size it should be ...)
(*) CHKDSK shows only 15,56 GB. DISKPART.EXE shows 83,79 GB. I can use only 15,56 GB. What is the truth ?
And there is no change to resize this partition again.
( yes, there has been an error: "ACRONIS can not resize the partition". But there have been no information "why" ... ). Any Idea what to do?

Wolfgang:
Which version of Disk Director did you use? DD 10 or DD 11?

Wolfgang:
The reason that I asked was that I don't recall ever hearing someone have this issue with Disk Director 10. However, I have seen a few reports of this same issue with Disk Director 11.
Here is a recent thread that describes the exact same issue (see reply #3): http://forum.acronis.com/forum/19945
I will post a message in the Acronis MVP forum asking one of the Acronis Support Team members to take a look at this thread to see if they can be of help.
