Primary partition is RAW. Disk director sees it as NTFS

Thread needs solution

I recently ghosted a hard drive in an HP laptop to a 1 TB drive. Everything booted up and worked fine for about a month.
Then the laptop wouldn't boot. I put the hard drive as an external drive on another pc to view it and the primary boot partition shows as RAW.
When I run Disk Director, it shows as NTFS.
What is the correct procedure for recovering this from a RAW partition back to an NTFS partition and why does it show as NTFS in Acronis?

Can DD browse the partition and see the files on it?

Do you have a current backup image of the drive or partition?

TestDisk has been reported to help in cases like this. The partition may be intact and just needs repaired.
