Vista system failure when trying to unistall DD10

Thread needs solution

I was uninstalling an old version of Disk Director (v10) from a Vista Pro laptop.

During the uninstall it advised that a DD service had to be stopped and this would be achieved by re-booting the system.

On re-boot the system launched Windows Start-up Repair which failed with the following message:
Root cause found
Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem.
Repair action: System files integrity check and repair.
Result failed - Error code = 0x490.

When I re-boot I get the blue screen of death.

I have no drive back-ups so I need a fix from Acronis to repair the damage that was caused by uninstalling the Disk Director system.

I have 6 licensed products from Acronis and this is the first time a catastrophic failure of this kind has happened.

Any help greatly appreciated....

Hello James,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will definitely assist you with this.

It is possible the Windows loader became corrupt. Could you try the solution from this article please and if it does not help, let us know the following:

1. Exact BSOD message.

2. Acronis report 51.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
