WARNING DD11 OSS Becomes unlicensed after a restore

Thread needs solution

I had a working OSS Setup on my system and then decided I had to restore back to an earlier version of the OS 2 days back where OSS was exactly that same as it was on the day I did the restore. (I just wanted to remove all traces of an installation that did not work as expected.)

After restoring OSS did not function it said "Non System Disk" then when I tried to resolve the situation with a repair it told me that it was unlicensed.

The only way to resolve this is to uninstall and re-install as I have been here before, but it is such a pain to do this because of the other bugs in the product I think I will leave it alone until it get a fix posted.

One day we may get a set of Acronis product that actually work together and individually - right now I think none of the product work properly and certainly do not work together.

Hi Yana,

Sorry but at this time I have no need to try and re-create this issue - it has been noted by others that this can happens as well.

Next time it happens I will capture the detail.

Well its happened again but right now I just don't have the time to jump through hoops to get the detail. What I would suggest is that whoever has OSS installed runs the Windows GUI, selects one of the OS's OSS is managing and then looks at the properties option. If this is as widespread as I think it will be then at this point what looked like a working OSS install will suddenly say "Unlicensed".

Also the method I had to work around another OSS bug does not work. If I delete an OS from the configuration I can no longer add it back.

So it is back to DD10 on the CD until Acronis get their act together and fix all the bugs that stop their products working.

We have all waited too long already to get the many issue in DD10 ATIH2011/2010 and ADM resolved!!!

When will we be seeing some updates - dates please?

A reply from Acronis *IS* required.
