What to do next when Recovery Expert fails?
I have a 2to Seagate Barracuda which doesn't work any more.
The files can be seen by Disk Director, but I can't copy the partition, and Recovery Expert does not allow to select the unallocated space.
There are read error issues, and it's quite tough to get access to the (important) data. At this point, I don't care so much for the disk, but I don't want to lose the data.
The disk is detected by the BIOS, although it sometimes take a little while. Of course, SMART fails on this disk...
Disk Director can read the data, I can see the directories and that's really awesome.
Therefore, I try to copy the partition to an other disk. At this point, there are many errors, and Disk Director ends by suggesting to use Recovery Expert instead.
Recovery Expert detects the two disks, but it's not possible to analyze the available space.
Coming back to Disk Director, the partition is gone. I suppose that the disk disconnected in the meantime, and that it doesn't work very long...
What would you suggest?
Thank you so much!

Hello,
Thanks for your answer.
However, it seems that the disk health has drastically decreased since then.
Disk Director can't get access to the disk, and indeed, the BIOS doesn't see it either...
I suppose that there is a mechanical failure...
Thanks
