WIN 7 installation issue

WIN 7 upgrade

I purchased the above upgrade because I have built a new computer which uses the WIN 7 O/S.
I attempted to load Disc Director 11 Home Upgrade from my existing CD purchased circa 2009 and found that it wouldn't accept my code taken from the cd face.
I discovered on Google that Acronis did not have a WIN 7 version, but had an update for £19.95, which I purchased.
The method of upgrading requires that I have DD v11 on my new computer, which, of course I do not.
Could you please advise me of the correct procedure or should I ask for a refund my money.
