Slow deployment and severe network degredation

Thread needs solution

We purchased 10 snap deploy licenses as a test. Eventually I want to be able to manage all 30 of our client machines. During my testing, deployment speed maxes out at about 1MB/s using either multicast or unicast. Our entire network performance is severely impacted as well. If i remove the switch from the rest of the network, speeds increase to 30-40MB/s, but as soon as i connect it to the rest of the network, the speeds immediately plummet. Is there any way i can fix this? I really need to be able to deploy over the live network to machines.

I have found that on a private test network running on a 1GB 3Com switch just for Snap Deploy 4 that the 1st PC to image will start at 30mb then when starting to image more PCs it drops to 20 then 10mb then 5mb then 1mb a second - why? Its a private network on a 1GB switch so there is no reason that 20 x PCs should be imaging at 1mb a second.

I should say that the 3com switch shows all PCs running at 1000mb / FULL duplex.

Any thoughts Acronis?

Daniel. Is your entire network gigabit? you might also want to try some type of packet sniffer to examine your traffic. your speeds could be impacted by users opening or transfering large files or even a bad network card that is being "chatty" and sending out too much traffic. Or maybe even some unused protocols. We had a printer once that was flooding out network with traffic trying to take to netware clients.

I am running Snap-Deploy 4, and I too am experiencing excruciatingly slow speeds. I am, as I write this, Imaging 10 laptops on the same subnet as the server and it is saying it will complete in 8hrs??? We used to run Altiris on our network and never saw such lackluster throughput as this. There has to be some solution to this issue or this product isn't going to be practical. From what I see in the forums here, there hasn't been much addressing the issue.
