TFTP open timeout

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I'm having issues with booting from Acronis PXE server.
When I boot from the network, I get an IP address but then following error appears:

PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent.

Our DHCP server is on our domain controller, separated from the Acronis Snap Deploy 5/PXE server. DHCP option 60 is set to PXEClient.

I searched through the forums and I've seen that the DHCP option 67 should be set to bootwiz.sys
If I do this, I get the TFTP errors above.

If the DHCP option 67 is NOT set, then this error occurs: Bad or missing PXE menu and/or prompt information.

If I remove option 60, then I I won't get an IP address from the DHCP server at all.
Tried to set DHCP option 66 too (FQDN and IP address) and didn't work also.

Did someone have this issue to?

Thanks a lot for your help.

You will likely want the following options. The DHCP configuration is not well documented by Acronis. I had the very same problems when I started evaluating this product.

60 - Only set this to PXEClient if the PXE server is on the SAME machine as the DHCP. In your case you should not have option 60 since you are running the DHCP and PXE on separate hardware.
66 - PXE Server FQDN or IP address
67 - "bootwiz.bin"
