Universal Deploy, v5.0.1,366 - device drivers
I've created a master image from a Dell Latitude 6440. Have downloaded the Dell 6430 driver cab pack and expanded it for use with Universal Deploy. When I dump the 6440 tib onto the 6430 with Universal Deploy I still get some device driver errors in Device Manager.
I've tried adding the drivers for Universal Deploy at the highest folder levels - Audio, Chipset, Communication... etc.,
I've also drilled down to the lowest folder for each section and added from there.
I've also taken all of the individual files under the lowest folder levels and placed them in one giant pool and pointed there ----- but I still get a few device driver errors.
Ex. video driver, not all network drivers are present, SM Bus, ECP Printer Port - errors.
I just tried pointing to the lowest folder level of each section during the deployment task, dumped the image onto the 6430, after completion it asks to sign in for Universal Deploy, finishes, reboots, runs through configuration screens - then BLUE SCREENED. After reboot, I chose Start Windows Normally, (got stuck at "The system is being configured in accordance wwith the specified deployement options..." screen, powered off, restarted, same screen, then it finished on its own.) (When it restarts I have a user AA5BF78725. What is that all about!?)
If I'm doing everything correctly and still getting driver errors could it be because of this: (found it on Acronis' site)
"The program will find the most suitable drivers of all available drivers and install them into the deployed system. However, the driver defined by the user, will have the priority. It will be installed, with appropriate warnings, even if the program finds a better driver."
If this is the case, does that mean I should delete drivers before making the master image?

I agree with your criticism. It seems that this will get your computer booted and on the network, so that you can then fix the driver issues. We are forced to maintain about 8 different images for the various Dell, Lenovo, Panasonic, desktops and laptops we have throughout our organization. It would me MUCH easier if we could load the necessary driver software and Acronis could 'fix' this when applying an image to a computer.
