Acronis reboots laptop when trying to shut down
I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro. Since upgrading to Acronis True Image 16, Laptop reboots whenever we try to do a shut down. In order to shut off the laptop I have to physically hold down the power button. Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so how did you resolve it? Thanks

DCW,
I believe something happened during the upgrade/install of ATI. When you performed the install, did you remove the earlier version of ATI prior to the install of ATI 2016? If you did not perform an uninstall, then I recommend you uninstall ATI 2016 using the directions in the link below:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668
As part of the uninstall, Acronis have a cleanup utility (link is in the link above) which removes ATI from the registry. You should download the utility and follow the procedures listed in the link above. After completing the uninstall, you will reboot your computer. Prior to installing ATI 2016, you can confirm that shutdown is back to normal. Then proceed with a clean install.
If you did remove the earlier version of ATI, then you could proceed with a "Repair" install. To do a "Repair", run the ATI 2016 install program again. This time, you will have an option to "Repair". If the Repair doesn't fix the problem, then proceed with the uninstall.

Hello All,
DCW, if suggestions of Bobbo and FtrPilot did not help you, you can contact Acronis Customer Central to get further assistance on this issue.
Perhaps it is an operating system crash at shutdown attempt which causes computer to reboot automatically instead of closing properly.

Slava
