After Restore Another Backup Created?

Thread needs solution

This happened with ATI 2015 as well.

I do a system drive backup (C:) and then a day or so later I restore it.... but then a short while after the restore - a new system backup is created - without any prompting or scheduling or anything from me at all. The subsequent new backup has -2 at the end of it so it's not an incremental backup it's just a "new" sytem drive backup? This either happens immediately after the restore or a short while after

I make sure I choose "Do Not Schedule" when creating the task but still every time I do a restore this happens. I thought 2016 v5586 might not do it but it does the same thing.

I only have one backup in the list and the only way I can stop this happening is to delete the task (settings) immediately after the restore.

Anyone else experience this or have any thoughts??

Scheduling bugs seem to have been a long term problem. Maybe this will help (or maybe not, given the longevity of such issues):

You could also check Task Scheduler to see if a backup is scheduled (deleting the task if you find one). I'd also try deleting and recreating the task.

Also, here's a link to some guides:
