Backup created in TI 2016 doesn't appear, won't appear after Add Existing Backup
I have a full backup that is validated upon creation. It does not appear in my list of backups, though the script name with associated options does. The backup is written to my external USB drive. Other backups created in TI 2016 do appear.
I can click on the .tib file in Windows Explorer, and it does open. I can open files, etc.
I have tried to Add Existing Backup. Hard to discern what happens but no error message appears.
Running the latest Windows version of TI 2016, Windows 7 (x64). I have rebooted, open and closed TI 2016 and repeatedly tried to "add existing backup" without success.
I have read related messages in the forums but a solution does not seem evident.
Any help appreciated.
Bob

No, no change in the driver letter. I established the drive letter when I attached the external USB drive more than 2 years ago.
Thanks.

Sometimes validating the tib wakes Acronis up to the backup's existence. Right click on the tib to see the option.

Hi,
Tried right-clicking the .tib and I see an Acronis menu with two choices: Mount or Validate. After selecting "mount" to see what was offered, I exited, started TI 2016 and there is no change. The backup name appears and options indicate it conforms to what I originally specified, but there are no entries availaable ("Last Backup...Never performed).
Other suggestions welcome!
Thanks for your help.

Hello R Fitzgerald,
Thank you for your posting! Please try the following:
1) delete all tasks using task zap command
2) stop all Acronis services
3) terminate all Acronis processes in Task Manager
4) rename the folders C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts and C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database (e.g. ScriptsOld and DatabaseOld). Please note that ProgramData folder can be hidden on particular systems.
5) Start Acronis services anew and check if the application works as expected.
Thank you,

Dear Ekaterina,
Thank you. Followed your directions (renaming the database folder was the most difficult since it appears to be in use by a process or other activity that is not easily identified...I used the "autoruns" utility to turn off all acronis activities and after rebooting was able to rename the folder) and I can now add the existing backups. I noticed that there have been a number of users with a similar problem over the past several years so it might be useful to make your posting part of a FAQ.
Again, your help was greatly appreciated.

Happy to hear that the issue has been resolved! I've adjusted my last comment to make it more detailed.

Dear Ekaterina Surkova
Your step 3) seems to leave something still running as R. Fitzgerald noted. I simply went to SERVICES and stopped all the Acronis services running there and followed all of the other steps which worked for me.
Thanks
