Backup will not start
I had been using True Image 2015. My backup disk was a 3TB WD passport external drive. This disk failed and I added a new backup drive. The original drive was "D:" and the new drive also was listed as "D:". The True Image still showed the backup destiination as "D:" -- however this was now a new drive.
When I click "Backup now" a message shows "queued" along the bottom -- and the backup never occurs. When I attempt to remove the old backup and add a new backup -- the delete process never completes -- the "deleting" message remains on the screen and I cannot exit True Image without stopping the task.
Thanks for your assistance
Jim

Thanks Steve ---
I did as you suggested. Downloaded Acronis Schedule Manager Utility and ran the .exe. Used command line to "get list" and then to "task zap". The listed tasks seemed to be removed as expected. I then rebotted and opened True Image and I saw the previously stored backups. I deleted these backups -- deleting "setting only" not the data. Then I set up a new backup with new source and new destination (My D drive which I had replaced). I then clicked "Backup Now". However, the True Image app now seems to hang in "Retrieving Information" as it attempts the backup. I left it on for several hours and it just hangs. The only way to get True Image to stop this "Retrieving Information" activity is ctl-alt-del and terminate the task. I have repeated this several times with reboots in between.
Any further thoughts?
Jim

Jim, the next step is to download a copy of the Log File Viewer App from the forum and use it to get an idea of what messages are being posted in the Service log for your backup task, so that we can see if it is hitting an error or other problem? You can also post a copy of the log(s) to the forum if you need help in understanding the content.

Jek, see if disabling VSS for the backup and letting Acronis Snapapi take over instead results in a successful backup or not...

Try method 1, it is the simplest and will only disable VSS for the Acronis backup task you modify and leave it available in Windows if you use it for anything else like Windows backups.

below is results from the LogViewer app.
I have now added a second 3TB passport backup drive that shows up as "F". I also have a 2TB backup drive that is "D". When I last ran True Image successfully, the backup drive was labeled as "D" -- but the drive has failed and been shipped for recovery. When I delete the current backups to "D" and backup to the new drive "F", the True Image app still gets stuck in "retrieving data" -- just spins there forever.
AHA!!! I see from the log the message about "activation". I purchased the True Image update 2016 from the web. Apparently I had to do the activation before it would work correctly -- makes sense. But -- Geeze -- this should have been easier to find out!!! The backup is now functioning.
Thanks for the pointer to the log info.

Jim, thanks for providing feedback on the outcome of this issue, and for posting the log details as that is useful to see. I agree that this could have been presented in a far more visible way with a pop-up message perhaps!
