Backups appear to be empty

Thread needs solution

I've been running Acronis true image 2016 for a few days now, set up with incremental non-stop backups at the default settings. Acronis is set to backup to an unmounted NAS location.

When I go to the NAS to browse the backups and doubleclick the .tib-file, I don't see any files. I am also getting an error saying "Non-stop backup is stopped" soon after booting windows, and when I hover over the acronis tray icon, it is indeed stopped.

If I try to access my laptop's backups instead, which are on the same NAS, then I can browse them just fine, but it won't let me do that on my main PC

Is it possible that the backup archive is corrupted? And how did that happen after just a few days?

I might want to add that the backup files are like >300GB in total, and that acronis did spend a few hours once it was set up the first time, so the backup archive shouldn't be empty. It should have a complete backup of my system.

Hi John Karlson,

Question: Did you know that it takes far less time in restoring a Full Backup, then in restoring a Incremental Backup. If the Hard Drive fails, first you need to restore the initial Full Backup, then you need to restore each Incrememtal Backup, before being up to date?

I don't do Incremental Backups at all, only Full Backups. Full Backups are restored in about nine minutes. When I backup, I use Maximum Compression.
