Boot Media Disk Not Working

Thread needs solution

I just updated to Acronis 2016 and I created the Acronis boot media disk via tool within the SW package.  I then attempted to boot from this new disk and I get as far as the selection menu where I can choose Acronis 2016, System Report, etc.  After selecting the Acronis 2016 option, I see the Acronis boot loader message and after a few seconds the screen goes blank.  After a 10 minute wait, nothing happens.  The screen remains blank without launching the recovery window.

I then attempted to make an ISO image-to-DVD boot media disk and also tried to create a bootable USB stick - all of which performed exactly as described above.

I then completely uninstalled Acronis 2016 and reinstalled the program thinking something had been corrupted during the original upgrade process.  This made no difference - all boot media attempts perform as described above.

Finally, I tried to boot from my old 2014 Aconis boot disk and it worked just fine.

No idea what to try next and would appreciate any help/suggestions.  Thanks in advance!

Hello, Eric.

Well, this is strange. Is your firmware BIOS or UEFI?

I suggest that you do this for troubleshooting purposes:

  1. Boot your machine into the Boot Media
  2. When the boot selection menu appears do this:
    • If you booted into UEFI mode (the screen will be all black with white text) select the option that says True Image, then press 'e' when prompted. After that remove the word 'quiet' and press Enter
    • If you booted into BIOS mode (blue boot menu window) press F11, remove the word 'quiet' then boot into True Image
  3. When the Boot Media finished booting (the text will stop scrolling) are there any error messages? Can you make a photo of your computer screen and share it?
  4. If everything went fine you will see a prompt '#' at the bottom of the screen. Type in /bin/product and press enter. This should start the True Image user interface itself. What happens when you do that?
